2/2/22 Cookiegram of Hot Topics!
Welcome to Cookie Season 2022! Girl Scout Cookies are
here, and they’re loaded with exciting new adventures. The Mega
drops were amazing, despite the delivery delays. California traffic!
Thank you for your understanding and patience while we navigated the
delay. My heart goes out to the family affected by the fatality
accident that caused the delay in Ventura County.
I
want to continue to provide support on a weekly basis to help guide
you through this cookie season. Especially knowing that 25% of our
membership is experiencing their first cookie season. I hope the
emails help you.
BOOTHS!
Understand, due to lack of insurance coverage, girls and
troops are not allowed to booth at a location not in SMART COOKIES!
Your Girl Scouts and Troops are not covered by our insurance if the
location in not in SMART COOKIES. On my honor…
Q: Our
Troop is interested in securing a Cookie Booth. How do I sign- up
for Cookie Booths?
A: From your troop dashboard: > Booth > Schedule Booth

for reservation.
- To view your booth selections after they have been made go to
Booth > My Reservations. Current Round > 2/1 at 7:00 pm to 2/3
– 11:00 pm > 6 booth selections.
Q: I have a store close to home, and my family members owns a
business can I set up a booth there?

Troop Dashboard,
go to Booth > Troop Secured Booth.
- You will need to enter the location, address and dates and
times.
- The locations will be approved by council.
- You will receive an email confirmation once your location is
approved or denied due to the following: the location cannot be
entered, the location is outside of your Service Area, or the

Q: Can I receive donations in cash at my booth?
A: Girls can ask customers to purchase a box that supports our
Care to Share program. These cookies are transferred to girls by the
SMART COOKIES app virtually to our Care to Share program, where girls
receive credit for their sale. These cookies are donated, at the end
of the Cookie Program to various organization both overseas and
locally. In March, look for opportunities for your troop to assist the
delivery of our Care to Share Cookies.

MORE COOKIES!
Q: If our troop needs more cookies, what do we do?
A: Troops can place planned orders anytime before 9:00 am on
Monday to pick up cookies at their selected cupboard that
following week. Cupboard locations and hours are posted on our Cookie+
resource page. Council and your SU Cookie Cupboard Manager, post
available cupboard hours weekly. We base our order for inventory into
all of the cupboards based on these "planned" orders.
Because of this we are not able to add orders after the 9 am
deadline. Note: You can always place a planned order and take less at
the pickup. Also, these cookies are not transferred to your troop
until you sign for them.
Q: What should I expect at
the Cookie Cupboard?
A: Expect our Cookie Cupboards to be busy, so please be
patient. We will review your order, count to verify your order, and
assist in loading. We will ask you to sign both our planned order
sheet and a receipt, you will get a yellow copy. Make sure you review
both. You will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours of the
transfer, if your order is incorrect, please contact us at info@girlscoutsccc.org.
Q: What if I need a few cases of cookies, and I missed the
planned order deadline, and need them for an upcoming booth?
A: First, reach out to your Service Unit and local troops to
see if there are any extra cases of cookies available, then you can
request a troop-to-troop transfer.
No luck finding extra
cookies? All of our retail locations have a “Cookie Jar” which
functions as a small cookie cupboard to supply cases of cookie orders
you need to fulfill. These locations are filled weekly, but there are
no guarantees.
Q: My Girl Scout has prepaid order
deliveries and I only need cookie boxes, not full cases. What do I do?
A: First check with your Troop Cookie Coordinator to see if
your troop has cookies in the “troop” inventory, If not, take your
pre-paid delivery orders to any one of our retail locations to fulfill
your order. We will transfer the cookies to the troop and take note
who picked up the order and verify that it has been fulfilled. Your
troop cookie coordinator will receive a receipt via email every time
there is a transfer to the troop.
GLUTEN FREE
COOKIES
Q: Can we order additional cases of
Gluten Free Cookies?
A: No, at this time there no additional cases of Gluten Free
Cookies available for our Council. Gluten Free Cookies are ordered in
October, based on pre-order requests. Please note: Gluten free cookies
are required to be added to initial orders, stated on the order form
you received by email.
What will we do if you need
additional Gluten Free Cookies? We will reach out to ABC Bakers and
our sister councils for additional cases. Once they are available, we
will contact you. Please email cookies@girlscoutsccc.org
and your request will be added to our list.
SOCIAL MEDIA!
How girls and troops can use their social media?
There is a difference between marketing your sale of Girl
Scout Cookies and selling Girl Scout Cookies online. Marketing your
cookie sale is an acceptable and useful tool, providing customers with
an announcement that cookies are available. Selling requires private
information to be exchanged over websites and is prohibited, except
for SMART COOKIES. The difference is how and what information is
shared and exchanged, Here are some examples:
- It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time, click here to support Michele on
her goals.
- Troop 12345 is having a booth in Ventura this
weekend – click here to find Cookie Booths in your area.
- Use your troops virtual booth link if set up or the cookie
locator link.

MONEY MATTERS!
Q: When is the
first ACH? and What do we do if our troop does not have enough funds
to cover the draft?
A: The first ACH is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8th. This
will be for only troops who placed an initial order, delivered between
January 26 and 29th. The amount is $1 per package, less any girl
delivery credit card transactions from January 24 – January 31. So, if
you have 1000 packages in your initial order, you would owe council,
at this time $1000 and if you had $500 in girl delivery credit card
transactions between 1/24 and 1/31, then you will owe only $500.
- To find your credit card transactions, go to Reports >
Current > Financial Transaction Summary. For transaction type,
choose ACH Deposit and the end date of 1/31/2022.
- To find
your troop balance summary and all transactions go to Reports >
Current > Troop Balance Summary. This report also provides as
your complete “Year End Troop Report”
Please note: Add both reports to your favorites.
Q: Not enough funds for the draft?
A: Send an email to info@girlscoutsccc.org
3 business days before the date, so for ACH #1, that would Friday,
February 4th. We will need your troop number and a reason why we
cannot draft the entire amount. If we can draft a partial amount,
please let us know.
- Please note, if you hold your ACH, your troop will not be able
to pick up additional cookies, as we assume you are still selling
your first round and have funds to collect from girls.
Q: Where do I find the digital/social media link that I can use for selling?
A: From your Girl Scout’s Dashboard go to My Orders > Share
My Cookie Link then scroll to the bottom > copy link
Q: How do I find my Girl Scouts QR code from the Smart Cookie Account?
A: This is new this year, on your Girl Scout’s Dashboard go to
My Orders > Share My Cookie Link > scroll to the bottom of your
page > print handout. The QR code will appear > copy and
paste.
Q: I hear companies can place large cookie
orders, How can I participate?
A: Check our new Corporate Cookie Connection program! This is
our way of connecting our amazing community partners and donors with
our Girl Entrepreneurs. Click here for more details Corporate Cookie
Connection.
Q: If my troop's families transfer
funds via Venmo for their funds, will I receive a 1099 from Venmo?
A: If you have a personal account, there will be no 1099 issued
but if the account is a business account, then a 1099 will be issued.

Girl Scout Product Programs give girls the opportunity to
explore and look for adventures. When you sell Girl Scout Cookies,
you're supporting our girls’ ability to learn, grow, and thrive.
Running their very own Girl Scout Cookie business makes it all
possible. Since cookie proceeds stay local, your support in this
program not only funds new adventures, it inspires them to change
the world and reminds them they’re capable of anything.
Thank you!
