Governance and Financial Reports

Governance structures are part of every Girl Scout Council and are defined in the Council bylaws. The Council's governing body is its Board of Directors. Under the leadership of the President, the Board maintains the integrity and the purpose of Girl Scouting. The Board's responsibilities include policymaking, fund development, and strategic planning. Governance members are volunteers who are elected by and accountable to the voting members of the Council.

Financial Transparency and Accountability

At Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast (GSCCC), we are committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.

In alignment with nonprofit best practices, GSCCC makes key financial documents available to the public. Visitors may access and download the following documents directly from this page:

IRS Form 990 (Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax)
Audited Financial Statements
Annual Reports

The IRS Form 990 serves as the primary tool used by the Internal Revenue Service to gather information about tax-exempt organizations, ensure compliance with tax law requirements, and provide insight into an organization’s mission, programs, and financial stewardship.

We encourage our community, partners, and donors to review these documents to better understand how GSCCC invests in building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

If you are unable to locate a specific document or need assistance, please contact us at info@girlscoutsccc.org, and we will be happy to support your request.
