Each year, Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast honors a few key individuals who have poured their heart and soul into the Girl Scout organization. These women paved the way for future girl leaders by acting as exemplary role models, achieving lasting change in their communities, and demonstrating that with the power of a G.I.R.L., anything is possible.
Honorees are women who have made significant contributions in one or more of the key focus areas for success as outlined by the Girl Scouts Research Institute. These areas include Healthy Living, Financial Empowerment, S.T.E.M., Leadership, and Community Responsibility. Girls who have positive influences within these areas are more likely to gain essential skills and find success on their journey to a lifetime of leadership. After finding out a little bit more about our honorees, you will see how our council is so fortunate to have empowered, determined, caring, and selfless individuals leading our girls.

Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast partnered with Rotary Club of Ventura-East to host a Food, Wine & Beer Festival to aid the Monarch butterfly population. Join us at beautiful Camp Arnaz. From 4-7 PM, guests are able to enjoy an array of delicious food samples from restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and specialty shops, as well as palette-pleasing fine wines, unique brews, and specialty beverages from throughout the local region and California.
Proceeds of this festival will aid in the establishment of the Monarch Breeding and Research Institute at Camp Arnaz which will promote the replenishment of the monarch population. Monarchs are the most well-known butterfly, though their population has been in a steep decline for the past 30 years. The milkweed plant, which is the only food source for the monarch caterpillar, has also drastically decreased since then. By attending this event, guests are able to play a significant role in the restoration of the Monarch population.
2023 Event Recap: Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast’s restoration efforts were also in display at the event as attendees were able to tour the nectar and pollinator gardens which are already in place at Camp Arnaz. The sponsors for this event included: ReMax Broker RoseAnne Hill, Sun, Moon & Stars Medical Corp, Chris Landon, Everett & Debbie Millais, Crowne Plaza, Betsy Chess, Mike & Tammie Helmuth, and Brenda Allison.
A world of exploration awaits in this all-inclusive experience for adults 21+. Tap into your inner camp child with exciting programs, check out your favorite local vendors at the farmers market, and taste your way through appetizers and spirits paired with Girl Scout Cookies at the farm-to-table check competition. Cap off the evening under the stars with some delicious S'mores.
