Blast Off into Space Science - Join us at MIRA
Get ready to launch into an out-of-this-world adventure as Girl Scouts explore the wonders of our solar system! In this hands-on Space Science program, girls will become junior astronomers as they discover what’s beyond our planet.
Create a simple scale model of the solar system to see the incredible spacing between planets and better understand just how vast space really is. Then, dive into Solar System taxonomy by sorting and categorizing objects like planets, moons, asteroids, and comets—an important step in thinking like a real scientist!
Take your curiosity sky-high with solar viewing activities, where you’ll safely observe the sun and learn about its powerful role in our solar system.
The adventure continues with engaging moon exploration activities, where girls will explore the Moon’s features, phases, and orbit through fun, interactive exercises—and discover how it changes in the night sky. Plus, get a chance to ask an Astronomer your questions!
Through hands-on learning and exciting discovery, girls will build confidence, spark curiosity, and earn their Space Science badge along the way!
Get ready to think big, explore far, and reach for the stars!
Not a drop off event - girls must be with their parent or Troop with proper chaperone ratios. Sorry, no tagalongs
