There’s something timeless and empowering about building your own fire—and in this hands-on patch program, Girl Scouts will learn how to do it safely, responsibly, and with confidence. From spark to flame, Juniors through Ambassadors will explore different fire-building methods, discover the science behind what makes a fire burn, and practice safe fire-starting techniques using tools like flint and steel, matches, or even natural materials. Scouts will also cover fire circle etiquette, Leave No Trace practices, and what to do in case of emergencies. Whether they’re prepping for a cookout or warming up on a chilly night, these campers will leave with the know-how to tend a fire with skill, respect, and care.
