Hey Girls Scouts,

As a teen, there are probably a lot of things you’re told you can’t do. But there is one very important thing you can do: Learn to protect yourself, your family, and your friends in case of disaster. Would you know what to do if an emergency struck your community or your school? After a disaster, professional responders will be needed everywhere. In the chaotic aftermath of an emergency, who could help until professional responders arrive? Who could be the first person on-scene to step up? The answer: You. In most emergencies, a bystander, or even the victim, provides the first immediate assistance. Joining Teen CERT teaches you how to respond when others look to you for help.

Please join the San Benito County Office of Emergency Services for this 20 hour certification course which will covered over a three day period, December 13 - 15, 2024. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and will be registered as a certified CERT Volunteer by FEMA. You will also be able sign up to be a certified Disaster Service Worker (16 and up) and can potentially become certified in CPR/First-Aid/AED.

Age Level: Cadettes (must be 12 years old at time of program) and Seniors and Ambassadors

Fee: $5
