This is a GSCCC designed leadership course which is required to complete the Program Aide Award. Learn valuable sills about being a mentor and sharing your skills, passions and experience with younger Girl Scouts! Program Aides have the unique opportunity to serve as champions of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

All girls 6th grade and above are invited to attend Program Aide Core Training on their way to completing the steps of the Program Aide Award.  Program Aide Core Training involves learning to work with children and adapting activities for special needs and situations.  You will put your new skills to the test with hands on activities that will prepare you for real life situations working with younger girls at troop, day camp, council and service unit events.

Participants will receive an exclusive GS Swag Bag filled with treasures and ideas to keep any group of youngsters occupied.

To earn a Cadette Program Aide award, follow these steps:

  1. Earn one LiA award.
  2. Complete Program Aide Core Training
  3. Work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions.  You might work with a group, at their meetings, at a day camp, or during a special council event.

Girls need to bring their lunch.

Dress appropriately for games including closed-toed shoes.
