Program Aide Core Training Flyer
This is a GSCCC designed leadership course which is required to complete the Program Aide Award. Learn valuable sills about being a mentor and sharing your skills, passions and experience with younger Girl Scouts! Program Aides have the unique opportunity to serve as champions of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
All girls 6th grade and above are invited to attend Program Aide
training on their way to completing the steps of the Program Aide
Award. Core PA Training involves learning to work with children and
adapting activities for special needs and situations. You will put
your new skills to the test with hands on activities that will prepare
you for real life situations working with younger girls at troop, day
camp, council and service unit events.
Participants will receive
an exclusive GS Swag Bag filled with treasures and ideas to keep any
group of youngsters occupied.
Additional Award Requirements: Girl must earn their Leader in Action (LiA) and help in 6 activities in addition to attending this training. Information about the Award can be found on page 30 of the Cadette Guide to Girl Scouting.
Girls need to bring their lunch and water bottle.
Dress
appropriately for games including closed-toed shoes.
Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. Basic Forms are available on the council website. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, completed background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
