The Women In Construction Club at Cal Poly, SLO, is hosting a workshop for local Girl Scouts to expose them to construction at an early age.
Brownies will learn how to efficiently and safely use the day's relevant tools (screwdrivers, paintbrushes and rollers, small shovels, etc.), as well as build and paint small boxes they can take home. Learn how to use very small batches of concrete to be poured in pumpkin or vase forms.
Girls will have the opportunity to meet current Cal Poly engineering and archetecture students and recent alumni working in the construction industry.
Event fee covers program, patch, a snack, and all required activity materials that the girls get to take home.
