Beginning Birding Flyer

Join docents at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History to learn all about birding with your sister Girl Scouts! No previous experience is required.

This program will cover tips on how to make a good observation of birds, how to adjust binoculars, and how to use apps and field guides to identify birds. The last segment of the program will be practice in spotting and identifying real birds outside the Museum.

EVENT DETAILS: Please dress for cool coastal weather and wear close-toed shoes. Binoculars will be provided, but if you have them and know how to use them, please bring. Bring a reusable water bottle. RAIN CANCELS Registration starts at 9:45 program starts promptly at 10 No pets. Adults who do not register are welcome to explore the museum on their own while the girls enjoy the program. Tagalongs may not attend the birding program, but they are welcome to enjoy the museum with their adult.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
