BEGINNER BACKPACKING
Forbush Camp Oct 6-7 (1 night) $40 1.7 miles each way grades 6-12 and adult
Required prep, kids & adults: Pack check: Sun Sept 30 7-8:30 pm Goleta (or by arrangement) Conditioning hike: On your own, by Sept. 30 Hike 1.5+ miles with full pack
About this hike:
• Hope to see fall colors & possibly apples & pears from Mr. Forbush’s old orchard
• Creek will be dry; we’ll have to carry all our water: 2L each
• Extreme fire restrictions means no stoves allowed; we’ll plan no-cook meals
• Picnic table & outhouse (without the house)
• Registration fees include breakfast & dinner, group gear, sleeping bag, pad, & pack
• Refunds available only when event is cancelled
• Girls do not need to register with an adult (we provide leaders)
• Reg. deadline: Sept. 14
