10 am to 4 pm: Special activities for children - Children 12 and under must be accompanied at all times by an adult.
* Take-home Craft making: mobiles, masks, finger puppets and seed balls.
* Children’s bird walks/play

10:30 am: Dr. Michael Bolte is presenting: “Wildlife in the Arboretum” , Dr. Bolte, a UCSC Astrophysics and Astronomy professor, has been capturing some of the Arboretum’s most elusive and interesting animals through his lens for decades. Join him as he shares some of the most memorable images of Arboretum wildlife.
1 pm: Dr. Bruce Lyon is presenting: "Jewels of the Garden: A Darwinian Natural History of Hummingbirds". Dr. Lyon is a UCSC Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and is currently conducting research on golden-crowned sparrows.
2:45 pm: Dr. Martin Quigley is presenting: "Gardening for the Birds: Choosing Plants That Hummingbirds Love". Dr. Quigley is the Arboretum’s Executive Director and has a background in plant community ecology and landscape architecture.
Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website www.girlscoutsccc.org/forms Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
