Come celebrate National Estuaries Day at Elkhorn Slough Reserve!

Activities include native plant sale, docent led walk and talk with land stewards and researchers (including wildlife walks, native plants gardening, sea otter research, and more.), kids arts and crafts; plein-air-art for kids with the Reserves Fall 2017 Artist in Residence, viewing the slough’s microscopic life at the Reserve learning lab and a range of displays and hands-on demonstrations.

Girl Scout Swap Event will happen at 11:00am in the amphitheater. Create an environmental focused swap representing outdoor fun...think about using recycled items for your special troop, girl, family or group swap. Bring a minimum of 30 swaps to share with others.

Girl Scout Drawing will happen at 12:00pm in the amphitheater! Everyone participating in the Girl Scout Swap will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a frog lamp.

This event is indoors/outdoors and the weather can fluctuate. Wear layered, comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes, sunscreen and any other needed sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.). Bring a refillable water bottle and lunch. Weather will cancel the Girl Scout Swap event.

Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website www.girlscoutsccc.org/forms. Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
