On behalf of our Teen Advisory Committee (TAC), we are welcoming all Daisies who are ready to get outdoors for a fun and exciting overnight adventure at Camp Arnaz!

Daisy Girl Scouts are just getting started, but what is a better way to introduce your Daisies to outdoor skills then at our very own Camp Arnaz!

Daisies, troop leaders, and parents, will be camping inside the Main Lodge.

A detailed supply list and directions will be provided one week prior to the event. Closed-toe shoes will be required!

Daisies will participate in workshops led by the TAC Team and will include the following:

  • Animal Tracking—Track casting and learning all about local wildlife!
  • Survival Skills—What does a Daisy do if she is lost? She will know after this workshop!
  • Fire Building—Edible fire, Yummy!
  • Crafts—This is a take-home surprise! No peeking!
  • Pitching a tent— All camping skills start somewhere!

Itinerary:

4:00pm -6:00pm—Arrival, set-up, and sack dinners! There are a number of eateries just up the road in Oak View.

6:00pm-8:00pm—TAC Outdoor Workshops

8:00pm-9:00pm—Winding down: quiet songs (a Girl Scout tradition!) and Cardinal Point Freeze tag with GLO STICKS!

9:00pm-9:30pm—Girl Bedtime

7:00am-9:00am—Continental Breakfast and departure.

This program has been designed to provide Daisies with a safe introduction to troop camping and outdoor skills. Everyone will be sleeping indoors. There will be healthy snacks available throughout the evening and a coffee/tea station available for the adults at all times! This event is run exclusively by GSCCC and will be a fun and relaxed experience for all participants!

Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all travelingforms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website here. Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
