No need to fly off the handle! Girl Scouts are ready to explore the world of edible insects with Bugible founder and Yale University graduate Ms. Aly Moore!
Girls Scouts will learn about Entomophagy (eating bugs)! This practice is generally considered taboo in the United States, but in many parts of the world, eating insects is a part of daily life.
“Some of the most popular bugs eaten around the world are crickets, grasshoppers, ants, mealworms, beetles, caterpillars, bees, wasps, and locusts. But there are over 2,000 currently identified edible insects”. -Aly Moore

Girls need to wear closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and bring a refillable water bottle to the event. Please note: Due to the capacity of the event, pre-registration is mandatory; Walk-ups, tag-a-longs, and pets are not allowed.
Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website here. Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
