- Girl Scout Blood Drive has been canceled due to low registration. Vitalant will be moving the blood drive to the Madonna Inn, SLO. Girls and adults are still encouraged to participate but there will no longer be a doughnut party for the troop with the highest amount of donations. -
GSCCC is partnering with Vitalant (formerly known as United Blood Services) to host a Summer Blood drive! The troop with the most donors will win a SloDoCo doughnut party at the SLO Center! When signing in donors will note which troop they would like their donation to count towards.
Girl Scouts and tag-a-longs will have the opportunity to make their own blood slime while their adults donate (while supplies last).
This event is open to the community which means girls are encouraged to invite their parents, neighbors, and other community members to donate on behalf of their troop.
Sign up for a donation time HERE.
Donors must be at least 16 years old.
Donors ages 16-17 must have parent or guardian consent to donate.
There are weight and height restrictions for donors age 22 and younger.
Donors are encouraged to complete their Health History Questionnaire online prior to donating. This is not required but will save them about 20 minutes at the blood drive.
Information regarding the blood drive process and use of donor blood can be found using the health history link.
If you have any questions regarding the blood donation please contact Laura Kamada at LKamada@vitalant.org
