Grab your hiking boots and join your fellow Girl Scouts on a 3 mile, moderate docent-led hike in the beautiful San Luis Obispo hills. Learn about the native plants and animals that call the area home, your responsibilities as a hiker, and how to make the most of a nature walk

This hike is part of a series of hikes to get girls outdoors. We will be learning about the native plants and animals we encounter and how we should react and interact with them. Girls will be discussing hiking etiquette, leave no trace and responsibility on the trail.

Required attire: hiking boots, hat (for sun protection) and a day pack with water and snack or lunch. (If you know your ten essentials, bring those!)

Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website here Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
