Girls wanting to join the fun can:
Joining a Girl Scout troop gives girls the opportunity to work with a group of peers, guided by adult volunteer leaders. Troops meet weekly or every other week over a 9 - 12 month period. Many girls develop bonds that last a lifetime, and some troops remain together for many years. New troops are formed throughout the year. Two adult volunteers and five girls are needed to start a new troop. New volunteers are provided a comprehensive orientation, support and program guides to make leading a troop easy, rewarding and fun.
With the guidance and mentoring of caring adults volunteers, girls develop their full potential, including teamwork and leadership skills to last a lifetime. Girls work together to set goals, plan and carry out activities, and celebrate their accomplishments. Troop activities can include completing service projects, earning Girl Scout awards, learning skills, getting outdoors, traveling and more.
