Trek Wild is Volunteer led hiking and backpacking in the GSCCC central/south area
Take the first step in your wilderness adventure! Designed for individuals, our Wilderness Hiking Course safely takes Girl Scouts and adults out of the campground and into the woods. Wilderness Hiking covers outdoor skills and knowledge and is recommended -though not a prerequisite* - for the Basic Backpacking and Advanced Backpacking courses. Spend your morning in the classroom and your afternoon on the trail learning about safety, proper gear and equipment, the Leave No Trace ethic, and building independence in Girl Scouts. This class lays a strong foundation for more extraordinary adventures. Have an entire troop interested? Contact us to arrange a course!
Classroom portion 9am-2pm
Hike portion 2pm-4:40pm at Wildwood Park
*New this year: 5th grade Juniors and older may attend; Wilderness hiking is recommended but not required for Basic Backpacking, which will be offered in the spring
Cost: $35/ individual covers course materials and "10
Essentials" starter kit. Refunds are available only when Girls
Scouts cancels event.
Girls can attend without an adult.
