Hey Girl Scouts!
Get ready for a day of exploration and fun as girls dive into ocean conservation by exploring the sources and effects of marine pollution. Through engaging lessons and real-world research, they'll learn how pollution impacts marine life. The experience wraps up with a hands-on beach cleanup at Avila Beach, where Scouts will investigate the most common types of pollution found locally. It’s a meaningful way to make waves in protecting our oceans!
This program aligns with GSCCC’s Coastal Inland Waterways Patch Program.
Program Schedule:
9:55am - Group arrives (6th-12th graders)
10:00-10:30am - Classroom Intro

10:40-11:15am - Beach cleanup
11:15-11:30am - Final trash weigh, data summary

*Your scouts are welcome to visit the Aquarium and Gift Shop after the program!
