Leadership Directory

As a volunteer organization, Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast has a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community leaders and professionals who provide our organization with leadership. The combined expertise of these community members provides leadership to the council by establishing the policies and bylaws that guide us.

These governance volunteers have the responsibility of strategic planning, fund development, financial oversight, and appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). They are chosen by the Board Development Committee and elected by the voting members of the Council. With the support, vision, and commitment of these role models, girls have the opportunity to find – and become – leaders in their communities and the world.

Meet our CEO

Tammie Helmuth : Chief Executive Officer

Tammie Helmuth is a dedicated leader passionate about empowering girls and protecting the environment. She oversees multiple program centers, a thriving council with over 5,600 girls, and over 4,500 adult volunteers, and a fantastic GSCCC team. Beyond her Girl Scout role, Tammie has a rich history of nonprofit work, emphasizing youth development, female leadership, and community service. She has been recognized for her volunteerism as Women of the Year, Rotarian of the Year, and numerous environmental awards. Tammie’s commitment to making a difference extends to her personal life, where she enjoys family time, outdoor activities, and creating unique art.

“My passion for life fuels my purpose and drives me to make a meaningful impact in my Girl Scout community. It's the unwavering belief that every action, no matter how small, can create positive change. I dream big and set goals. One of my big dreams led us to secure Camp Arnaz as a Monarch Breeding & Research Center. This passion drives my commitment to creating a better world for future generations, and I love sharing that within Girl Scouts.”

Bette Grace is a Certified Public Accountant and co-owner of Grace CPAs, LLP, a public accounting firm. She holds multiple professional designations in the finance and accounting industries. Bette's involvement with Girl Scouts began as a Brownie and continued as she served as the cookie mom for her daughter’s troop. She returned to Scouting when her granddaughter Caitlin joined, and has been a troop leader or co-leader for thirteen years. In addition to her leadership roles, Bette has served as Service Unit 250 Treasurer, Day Camp Director, and is a board member of the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. She holds a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. with an emphasis in taxation from San Jose State University.

Kathy John

Kathy John is a long-time Santa Cruz community member and lifetime Girl Scout with extensive youth and adult experience. She has led her daughter's troop for 12 years and served as adult staff at Camp Artemis since 2006, focusing on leadership and outdoor skills.

With over 30 years in the financial field, She is currently the Controller for RP Construction Services, Inc., where she built the accounting team and policies as the company tripled in size She has held treasury roles in non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay and Girl Scouts Camp Artemis. She is eager to join the GSCCC Board to support and empower girls through impactful programming. Kathy holds a BA in Biology from UC Santa Cruz and an MS in Accountancy from San Jose State University.

Raina Knapp serves as the Board Chair for Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, where she is dedicated to empowering young women and fostering leadership through service and community involvement. With over 25 years of leadership experience, including executive roles at Bank of America, Raina is a seasoned mortgage professional with a deep expertise in strategic operations and program management. She currently oversees Product Development Governance at Pennymac. A champion of collaboration and innovation, Raina is committed to cultivating a positive and inclusive environment, both in her professional role and through her work with Girl Scouts. She is passionate about helping girls develop the confidence and skills needed to lead and succeed in today's world.

Robert Cabral

GSCCC Audit Chair - Acting Associate Vice Chancellor Strategic Partnerships, Enrollment & Advancement

Robert Cabral, SCPM, CCUIA, serves as Acting Associate Vice Chancellor of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness for the Ventura County Community College District and as Dean of Student Learning for Physical Sciences and Career Education at Moorpark College. He leads work in strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, career education, workforce development, and regional collaboration to advance student success and economic mobility. Robert is Statewide Co-Chair of the California Community Colleges Bachelor’s Degree Programs (CCCBDP), a former President of the California Community College Association for Occupational Education (CCCAOE), and interim managing lead for the South Central Coast Regional Consortium. A third-generation Oxnard native, he spent more than two decades in leadership roles with major banking and financial institutions before joining Oxnard College as a tenured Business and Accounting faculty member, where he also served as Academic Senate President and Dean of Career Education. He is committed to building partnerships among education, industry, government, and community organizations that prepare students and strengthen California’s workforce.

Tracie is the senior managing Director, Production Business Technology with Pennymac Financial Services, a top U.S. mortgage lender. With thirty five years of mortgage and technology experience, Tracie is accountable for leading strategy and execution, including product management, program management, and delivery to create technology solutions to support consumers and clients.

As an industry leader, Tracie has been recognized with the 2020 Housing Wire Technology Trendsetter and 2023 Women of Technology awards.

Passionate about supporting women in the industry, Tracie co-founded wEMRG (Women Empowering Mentorships, Relationships & Growth) at Pennymac in 2017. wEMRG has grown into Pennymac’s largest internal business resource group (BRG) for women and their allies, with a focused mission of promoting professional growth and leadership. Tracie is the current Executive Sponsor of wEMRG.

Dr. Jayme Johnson

With 29 years of experience in education, Jayme is a collaborative leader committed to fostering critical thinking, project‑based learning, and inclusive, mission‑driven school communities. As Head of School at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School, she has expanded academic offerings, strengthened Episcopal identity, launched new programs in athletics and curriculum, and led significant growth in community engagement, branding, and enrollment. Her leadership is rooted in a clear vision for student growth and a deep commitment to partnership with families, faculty, and the Board of Trustees.

Jayme previously served in senior academic and divisional leadership roles at St. John’s Episcopal School in Dallas and spent 14 years as Director of Academic Technology at Village School in Pacific Palisades. She began her career as an elementary educator in Burbank Unified School District. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University, an M.A. in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in English. An active contributor to the broader educational community, she has served on multiple accreditation teams and participated in national leadership programs through NAIS, SAES, and NAES.

Dr. Sevet Johnson

GSCCC Board Development Committee member - County Executive Officer: County of Ventura

Dr. Sevet Johnson has been the County Executive Officer for Ventura County since August 2022, overseeing 27 agencies and departments with a $2.8 billion budget and over 10,000 staff. A licensed Clinical Psychologist, she previously directed the County's Behavioral Health Department, managing services for around 18,000 clients annually. She is instrumental in implementing policies, including overseeing the allocation of America Rescue Plan Act funds and introducing strategic plans for the county.

Honored as a Top 50 Women in Business by the Pacific Coast Business Times and recipient of the NAACP Ventura Chapter's Pioneer Award, Dr. Johnson is an active community member. She participates in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rotary Club, and serves on the Board for the Museum of Ventura County. A former Girl Scouts Troop Leader, she values diversity in problem-solving. Dr. Johnson, a proud wife and mother of two, enjoys quality family time in Moorpark, CA.

Yvonne Lang

Yvonne Lang, a Partner at Pearlman, Brown & Wax LLP, holds twenty seven years of workers' compensation defense expertise, excelling as a trial attorney in complex cases. Before law, she specialized in workers' comp claims, earning certifications like WCCP and CPDM. Yvonne also worked as a fraud investigator. She led an Avon Foundation team that raised $250,000 for breast cancer research. Currently, she contributes to women's leadership development at GSCCC as a board member, Gold Award Scholarship Committee and CEO Review Chair. Yvonne holds a BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice (minor in Dance) from UC Irvine and a Juris Doctorate from the University of La Verne College of Law.

Michelle Martinich, CPA

With deep experience as a financial executive and a passion for empowering others, Michelle has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Riviera Bank since its founding in 2006. A member of the original organizing team, she oversees financial reporting and modeling, balance sheet management, strategic planning, shareholder relations, and corporate governance. Her earlier career includes leadership roles in planning and analysis at Pacific Capital Bancorp and audit experience with Arthur Andersen, where she specialized in financial services. She holds a B.A. in Business Economics with honors from UC Santa Barbara and has been recognized with distinctions such as CFO of the Year, 40 Under 40, and Who’s Who in Banking and Finance.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Michelle is deeply committed to service and community leadership. She has spent nearly two decades supporting Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast as a troop leader and mentor, and she currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for both First Presbyterian Church of Santa Barbara and the Sustainable Change Alliance. Her past board service with VNA Health included chairing finance and leading major strategic initiatives, including advocacy for expanded end‑of‑life care. A Girl Scout Gold Award recipient herself, she is dedicated to helping girls grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

Shelby O’Neil

Girl Advisory Board (GAB) Board Liaison - Founder Jr Ocean Guardians

Shelby O’Neil founded Jr Ocean Guardians (www.jroceanguardians.org), a non-profit that educates young children about plastic pollution and the ways they can help protect our oceans and planet. She also created and managed the roll-out of No Straw November with corporate partners to reduce over 45 million single-use plastic straws annually since 2016. As a longtime Girl Scout, Shelby developed Jr Ocean Guardians as a way to earn her Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. As a result, Shelby was 1 of 10 nationally recognized Gold Award Girl Scouts. She served as the first National Gold Award Girl Scout from the Central Coast chapter of California. Shelby has a Bachelor of Science in Society and Environment from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability from Northwestern University. Shelby is currently the Sustainable Business Operations Manager for the Aquarium Conservation Partnership.

Veronica Rodarte

GSCCC Gold Award Committee Chair - Chili Commodity Manager Progressive Produce

Veronica Rodarte, Chili, Citrus & Herb Commodity Manager at Progressive Produce, has dedicated over a decade to the company, specializing in fresh produce. As a third-generation produce professional, she began as a Dispatcher at Pathfinder Logistics and worked her way up to General Manager. Veronica's family legacy at Progressive spans generations, with her grandmother sorting potatoes on the packing line for 25 years. Beyond her career, Veronica's community involvement includes roles on the YMCA Board of Directors and as the Girl Scout Gold Award Committee Chair and Board of Directors member at large, reflecting her passion for growth and service.

Sue Roth

About Sue

Sue’s Girl Scout experience began as a Brownie, and since then has countless opportunities for leadership, fun, and friendships, stating that Girl Scouts “fills her soul.” She continued to become a troop leader for her two daughters, training facilitator, Service Unit Manager, President of MBGSC Council, Director of Camp Artemis, and GSCCC Vice Chair of Membership. Some of her favorite Girl Scout memories include hosting New Zealand Girl Guides, a Steinbeck National Girl Scout Destination, lobbying in Washington D.C. for Girl Scouts, incredible training opportunities, national and international travels, and many exciting camping experiences. Sue is an incredibly involved community member, serving as past President of the Scotts Valley Unified School District, past President of the Santa Cruz County Board of Education, President of three PTAs, leadership in Boy Scouts of America and 4-H, and past Senior Warden of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. She has been the recipient of the Thanks Badge, Thanks II Badge, and the ultimate Outdoor Blue Jay Award for her outstanding efforts. Sue said that “Gratitude cannot encompass what Girl Scouts has offered me in growth and memories,” and we are so lucky to have her.

Celina Zacarias

Celina L. Zacarias is the Senior Director of Community & Government Relations at California State University Channel Islands, responsible for advancing the university's presence and fostering relationships with local, state, and national officials. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, to migrant farmworkers, she came to the U.S. at age three and worked in the strawberry fields of Oxnard. Celina graduated from UCSB with degrees in Spanish literature and Hispanic civilization and has studied abroad in multiple countries.

With 25 years of business experience at GMAC Mortgage, Wells Fargo, and Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, Celina has held numerous leadership roles in professional and charitable organizations. Her accolades include the 2018 Latina in Leadership Award, 2012 Top Latina in Higher Education Award, and the 2020 Woman of Distinction for Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. In 2021, she was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in the Tri-Counties and one of the Top 50 Women in Business by the Pacific Coast Business Times.

Michele Lofte

Michele Lofte's remarkable journey with the Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast began in 2011 when she joined as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO at the time. Over the course of the following twelve years, she not only honed her leadership skills but also gained a profound understanding of the organization she passionately champions.

With a rich history spanning 25 years in diverse non-profit sectors, Michele brings to her role a deep appreciation for both the Girl Scout mission and vision. In the spirit of our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, Michele passionately believes that "Girl Scouts' work transcends the ordinary, forging a path to a better world." She is dedicated to realizing JGL's vision and is passionate about the transformative power of the Girl Scouts. Michele understands that the organization has the ability to empower young girls through innovative programs, cultivating leadership, and fostering community collaborations.

She considers herself exceptionally fortunate to be part of an extraordinary organization that is dedicated to nurturing girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Gina Silva

We’re thrilled to welcome Gina Silva back to Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast as our Senior Director of Mission Delivery, based out of the San Luis Obispo Program Center. After returning to GSCCC following a year away, Gina brings with her over 12 years of dedicated experience in a variety of roles, including Program Coordinator, Senior Director of Membership, and leadership in program support, recruitment, and member growth.

With her extensive background and deep knowledge of Girl Scout operations, Gina has hit the ground running in her return. She is passionate about strengthening programs that empower girls and volunteers, expanding opportunities across the Central Coast, and building on the council’s tradition of inspiring courage, confidence, and character. Gina is excited to look toward the future of GSCCC and continue advancing its mission of serving girls throughout our communities.

Summer Helmuth

Summer Helmuth is the Senior Director of Camp Arnaz for Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. In 2021, she initiated the Equine Center at Camp Arnaz, emphasizing horse care and safety. She ensures education aligns with the Certified Horsemanship Association standards and is a certified Level II instructor. Besides equine activities, Summer oversees programs like archery, astronomy, and the Monarch Breeding & Research Institute at Camp Arnaz. She holds certifications in USAA Archery and NRA Range Safety and is currently pursuing a Veterinary Degree.

Dianelli Gomez

Dianelli Gomez, “Nelly,” is the Director of Information Systems with a remarkable blend of business acumen and technical expertise. With over six years of dedicated service at GSCCC, she has been involved in various departments and committees, including the Recruitment, Program, and Accounting departments and the Kaleidoscope Committee (2022).

Nelly possesses a strong academic background and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and most recently, in May 2023, earned her associate’s degree in Computer Networking/IT.

Michelle Kienitz

Michelle’s passion for Girl Scouts began in childhood when she was a Girl Scout herself. In 2006, she continued her journey as a Troop Leader, creating countless memories and meaningful experiences along the way. Her dedication extended well beyond her troop, serving in numerous volunteer leadership roles, including MiCaSa Service Unit Manager, Service Unit Treasurer, Day Camp Director, and Learning Facilitator.

In 2019, Michelle turned her lifelong passion for Girl Scouts into a career with Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. Today, as Director of Mission Delivery, she brings her firsthand experience as both a Girl Scout and longtime volunteer to supporting girls, families, and volunteers across the council. She has a special passion for the Highest Awards—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—and enjoys helping girls discover their strengths, develop leadership skills, and turn their ideas into meaningful community impact.

Originally from Florida, Michelle has called Ventura County home for more than 30 years. She and her husband have raised two daughters and a son, all of whom grew up participating in scouting programs. For Michelle, scouting is more than a career—it is a lifelong passion, a family tradition, and a community that will always hold a special place in her heart.

Erin Mayo

Erin Mayo, a dedicated Senior Executive Assistant and Special Events Coordinator, brings over three and a half years of invaluable experience to the Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast. Beyond her professional role, she's a loving mom of two and a proud "MeeMaw" to two remarkable grandsons. Erin's passions include reading, traveling, and indulging in some retail therapy. She cherishes her role because it offers a daily dose of new and exciting experiences.

Lorisa Robles

Lorisa Robles is a dedicated administrative professional with experience in both government and nonprofit sectors, known for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to support leadership with efficiency and care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California Coast University and brings over 25 years of volunteer experience, reflecting her deep commitment to community and service. Lorisa is passionate about creating supportive, welcoming environments and thrives in roles that allow her to connect with others and strengthen teams. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and has taught classes in cooking and canning. She is supported by her husband, Pastor Rafael Robles, is a proud mother of five, and finds her greatest joy in her grandson, Benjamin.

Annie Scofield

Business Intelligence & Automation Manager

Annie Scofield is the Business Intelligence & Automation Manager at Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, where she brings together a strong foundation in business and data with a deep, hands-on understanding of council operations. With nearly eight years of dedicated service at GSCCC, Annie has grown with the council through a variety of roles, including Program Coordinator, Customer Care Specialist, Data Analyst, and Senior Business Strategist. Annie holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from California State University Channel Islands.

In her current role, Annie guides the council’s responsible use of AI. She develops its AI acceptable use policy and data handling standards, reviews new tools with special care for the privacy of girl members, and trains staff to use AI thoughtfully and safely. Her work has been recognized with multiple Ultimate Team Player awards, a Leading By Example award, and the 2022 Employee of the Year award.

Michelle Aliano

Program Center Manager - Oxnard

Michelle joined GSCCC in 2008 as a volunteer, starting as her daughter’s Troop Leader and guiding the troop from Daisies all the way to Ambassadors. She had amazing memories with her troop, including cookie rallies, summer camps, Disneyland trips, Kaleidoscope (go cook-off!), Brownilympics, Camp Artemis, and so much more! Even during the challenges of COVID-19, her troop stayed strong and connected, continuing as a full troop until the girls graduated in 2021. Michelle also stepped up to support her Service Unit by serving as SU Registrar, SU Co-Product Chair, and a member of the Mi CaSa Summer Camp Committee.

In 2021 Michelle joined GSCCC and became a Volunteer Support Manager at the council level, where she worked tirelessly to help volunteers and girls have unforgettable Girl Scout experiences. In 2023, Michelle took on a new role as Director of Customer Care and Volunteer Support. She led the Customer Care Team, which serves as the first point of contact for GSCCC volunteers and the wider community. As Director, Michelle also supervised the Volunteer Support Managers who worked directly with Service Units, volunteers, and Girl Scouts. This dual role allowed Michelle to connect with even more of the amazing members of GSCCC, and she’s loved every moment of making a difference across the council. In 2025 Michelle took on the role of Program Center Manager to further serve the GSCCC membership and the Program Center community. In this role Michelle will work with a dedicated team of council staff to best support the amazing girls and volunteers that make up GSCCC.

Michelle has lived in Ventura County for over 25 years and currently resides in Camarillo with her husband, daughter, and the family’s beloved mascot, Hera the pit bull. She holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and has had a long career in managed healthcare. After raising her daughter and discovering her passion, Michelle truly feels that GSCCC is her home, and Girl Scouts will always hold a special place in her heart.

Lauren Carroll

Program Center Manager - San Luis Obispo

Originally from Los Angeles, Lauren has called San Luis Obispo home for the past 16 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Illustration in 2017, and her creative background continues to influence the engaging, hands-on programs she brings to life for Girl Scouts across the Central Coast.

Lauren’s connection to Girl Scouts began early—she was a Girl Scout from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade—which fuels her passion for creating meaningful experiences for today’s girls. Since joining the council in 2021, she has been dedicated to expanding access to Girl Scouts, strengthening local Service Units, and supporting volunteers and families in building strong, thriving troops.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband of nine years and their three cats—Scully, Bones, and Opal.

Colleen Abbinanti

Program Center Manager - Castroville

Colleen joined the Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast team in November 2023. Previously based in our Ventura location, she served as a dedicated Volunteer Support Manager, where she spent much of her time ensuring troops and service units had the tools and resources they needed to thrive. Now residing in Watsonville, Colleen is thrilled to connect with troops and service units in the North. With a passion for supporting Girl Scout leaders and volunteers, she is committed to making every Girl Scout experience the best it can be!

Lexi Cross

Camp Arnaz Manager

Meet Lexi

Lexi Cross brings her expertise and passion to her role as Manager of Camp Arnaz, a cornerstone of Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. Since joining the organization in 2021 as part of the Equine Program Team, Lexi’s dedication and leadership have propelled her to oversee all aspects of the camp’s operations. With over 20 years of experience working with horses, Lexi is a CHA-certified riding instructor, skilled in both Western and English riding styles. While her heart is deeply tied to the equine program, she thrives in managing the diverse activities at Camp Arnaz, including archery, camping, BB guns, and astronomy, ensuring every Girl Scout experience is memorable and enriching. Outside of camp, Lexi embraces her competitive spirit in her weekly bowling league and travels with her husband, Matt—a fellow team member at Camp Arnaz—to state and national bowling tournaments. Together, they share a love for adventure and community, both on and off the lanes.
