Leadership Directory
As a volunteer organization, Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast has a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community leaders and professionals who provide our organization with leadership. The combined expertise of these community members provides leadership to the council by establishing the policies and bylaws that guide us.
These governance volunteers have the responsibility of strategic planning, fund development, financial oversight, and appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). They are chosen by the Board Development Committee and elected by the voting members of the Council. With the support, vision, and commitment of these role models, girls have the opportunity to find – and become – leaders in their communities and the world.
Meet our CEO
Tammie Helmuth : Chief Executive Officer
Tammie Helmuth is a dedicated leader passionate about empowering girls and protecting the environment. She oversees multiple program centers, a thriving council with over 5,600 girls, and over 4,500 adult volunteers, and a fantastic GSCCC team. Beyond her Girl Scout role, Tammie has a rich history of nonprofit work, emphasizing youth development, female leadership, and community service. She has been recognized for her volunteerism as Women of the Year, Rotarian of the Year, and numerous environmental awards. Tammie’s commitment to making a difference extends to her personal life, where she enjoys family time, outdoor activities, and creating unique art.
“My passion for life fuels my purpose and drives me to make a meaningful impact in my Girl Scout community. It's the unwavering belief that every action, no matter how small, can create positive change. I dream big and set goals. One of my big dreams led us to secure Camp Arnaz as a Monarch Breeding & Research Center. This passion drives my commitment to creating a better world for future generations, and I love sharing that within Girl Scouts.”
