Surfs up!

Come surfing with the awesome lifeguard certified surf instructors with The Wahine Project!

Girls will be divided into groups depending on age  and will participate in a variety of fun activities including surf instruction as  well as educational active ties that will teach girls about beach ecology an social responsibility. All equipment will be provided including wetsuits.

Surf instruction is provided by experienced Surf Instructors. Instructors have extensive experience and training in: surf and ocean rescue, beach safety, First Aid, and CPR. The instructors also have teaching experience with children. Safety, education and having fun are the primary objectives. Minimum of 4 paid instructors and several volunteer assistants with Wahines at all times during the program. With a ratio of 1 to 3 in the water and 1 to 1 for surf instruction for beginner surfers.

Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website www.girlscoutsccc.org/forms Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip.  All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
