Girl Scout Week

Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!

Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 members in Savannah, Georgia. Girl Scout Week is celebrated each March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12.

In 2023, Girl Scout week will be observed March 12-18. Join us each day as we celebrate our worldwide sisterhood. Try the games and activities listed below, or join us at an event!

Everyone can take part—whether you’re an independent Juliette, in a troop, an adult member/volunteer, or an alum. It’s easy! Each day use our suggested activity and/or make it your own as you celebrate. Be sure to check our council social media for daily posts. Be sure to tag us @girlscoutsccc. Wednesday, March 15

The Future is female.

On this day we encourage girls to dress like your future self, draw a self portrait depicting your future self, or create a video showing how you transition from a Girl Scout to your future self's identity. Maybe even visit a locally owned business that is similar to your future selfs goals. Whether you see a future in STEM, media, finance or education, your options are limitless.……

Thankful Thursday!

Our troop leaders, volunteers, and partners are valued at GSCCC, we recognize the contributions they make in developing girl leaders!

In honor of Girl Scout Week, we encourage girls to express their gratitude to their favorite Girl Scout Volunteer and partners to let them know they are very much appreciated!

Some ways you can thank a volunteer by:

  • Make a homemade thank you card to deliver or mail.
  • Send an email thanking them and sharing a fond memory you have with them in Girl Scouting.
  • Say thank you in person and give a high five.
  • Suprise them with their favorite cookie or fun poster.

Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat

Girl Scouts make the world a better place! Use today to learn about faiths other than your own! Did you know different faith communities have different religious recognitions for their members who are Girl Scouts?

Want more: Check out the My Promise, My Faith Pin developed by Girl Scouts of the USA. This pin, which girls can earn once a year, complements existing religious recognitions and allows all girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts.  Requirements for this pin are included in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all levels, see a Summary
