In order to become a Girl Scout Leader/Volunteer, we require certain trainings to be completed in order to ensure that our girls are being provided with the best possible program available.

Volunteer Essentials replaces Getting Started. This new module is meant to be an online resource with active hyper-links to the most current information on our website and links to the national website for all new Girl Scout Volunteers.

For volunteers who wish to be a Girl Scout Leader TROOP MODULE is also a mandatory web-based module. After completing the TROOP MODULE, please contact the GSCCC Program and Training Registrar and your current Service Unit Manager to confirm that you have completed both the Volunteer Essentials and the Troop Module. After completing the Volunteer Essentials and Troop Modules, new volunteers who choose to become troop leaders may meet with their troops as long as their volunteer application (including background check) has been processed and they have met with their Service Unit to do an Introduction Meeting.
Basic Leadership as an in-person training is NOW OPTIONAL IF VOLUNTEER ESSENTIALS AND TROOP MODULE HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
Grade-Level Trainings available as a home-study training or as an in-person training
Level 1 First Aid and CPR available as a home-study training with an in-person practicum test or as an in-person training
Stepping Out Training available as a home-study training or as an in-person training
Beginning Troop Camping available as an in-person training only
Advanced Outdoor Skills available as an in-person training only
Event Planning available as an in-person training or a home module

HOME-STUDY TRAININGS:
Are you interested in taking training but find that none of our in-person workshops fit your schedule? Then our Home Study program is for you. It is really simple!! Click on the training you would like to take, and follow the step-by-step directions. Download the Home Study Program as well as any materials posted for that training. (All Home Study Trainings are listed in the right-hand column on this page) Starting November 1st, 2008 All Homestudy Tests will be graded at the Service-Unit level.
GSCCC Troop Module
These tests will now be returned, scored, and entered in our electronic data base by each Service Unit.
Some Service Units may elect not to collect, score, and enter in home-study tests.
