Are you ready to rock?! Come learn about rocks, gems, minerals, fossils, and more at the Ventura Gem & Mineral Club’s Annual Show!
The Ventura Gem & Mineral Society’s 56th Annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil, & Lapidary Show is coming to the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura), on Sat., March 3 (10AM-5PM) and Sun., March 4 (10AM-4PM). There are going to be beautiful displays, the annual Coun-try Store & Plant Sale, silent auctions and a raffle for great prizes, kids activi-ties, demonstrators showing rock cutting and jewelry-making techniques, and all sorts of dealers selling rocks, fossils, minerals, jewelry, and lapidary arts supplies.
Girls will have a chance to:
·Meet with geology experts
·Watch a variety of demonstrations, which could include cutting and polishing stones, beading, hand-crafted jewelry making, and more.
·See a large variety of educational displays of colorful rocks, minerals, andfossils from private collections throughout Southern California.
·Take part in the Girl Scout Challenge to earn your patch!
Entrance to the show is free, although there is a $5 parking fee imposed by the fairgrounds.
Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website. Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
