Parrots in Art, Literature, & Science (B/J/C/S/A)
Date: Sat Oct 21, 2:00 PM PST - Sat Oct 21, 4:00 PM PST

Click here for the P.A.L.S. Program Flyer!

Attend P.A.L.S. and earn the Parrots in Art, Literature, & Science feather to compliment your primary patch and W.O.W. feather!

Meet Avian Ambassadors. Examine parrots through the eyes of artists like Frida Kahlo, and Southwest Native Americans, and through the lens of scientists like Audubon. Along the way, we will build vocabulary to use in crafting poetry or prose inspired by great writers.

Girls will gain an appreciation for parrots and the wonder of the avian world while building a connection to the Santa Barbara Bird Sanctuary; which can provide future service and educational opportunities.

Girls will investigate parrot presence in the arts, literature, and science.

Hands on Experience: Girls will learn how to observe and compare beautiful works of art, how to observe parrots as a scientist, and learn how to craft a poem and think like a writer!

Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website here. Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip.
