Hey Girl Scouts, Surf's up!!
Always wanted to learn to surf, or already know how and want to
improve while having fun with sister Girl Scouts? Join the fun and
learn to surf at Girl Scout Surf Day. This event is hosted and
led by lifeguard certified instructors with The Wahine
Project!
Girls will be divided into groups by age
and will participate in a variety of fun activities including
beginning surf instruction, beach ecology and social responsibility
activities.
All necessary equipment will be provided
including wetsuits and soft top boards.
*Please note: Surfing is considered a high risk activity. A general waiver form as well as a high risk activity form will be attached to the confirmation email. Girls will not be allowed to participate without both of the forms signed and brought to the event. Please review the Safety Activity Checkpoints for surfing prior to registering girls for this event.
Troop leader or adult chaperone is required to have all traveling forms for each participating girl. (Annual Permission Form, Health History, Permission for Medication, Permission to Release) Forms can be downloaded from the council website www.girlscoutsccc.org/forms Review specific event requirements in Safety Activity Checkpoints before taking any trip. All drivers should be registered Girl Scout Members, have completed a volunteer application and background check, have a valid CA driver’s license and hold current vehicle insurance.
